21st Annual FALL FEST
Saturday, October 16
10:00 AM – 4:00 PM, East Hartford Town Green, Main Street…Featuring family oriented games, crafters, contests, moon bounce, giant slide, bathtub racers, Big Daddy race cars, music, caricatures, entertainment, pony rides and hay wagon rides. Purchase an all inclusive wrist-band for unlimited rides for $8.00 or pay for individual rides. Many free activities including children’s pumpkin painting while supplies last. NEW THIS YEAR: East Hartford’s Best Pizza Taste-Off at 12:00 Noon featuring East Hartford’s finest pizzerias. ChildPlan will be hosting a “Create Your Own Scarecrow.” Hay and stakes will be provided, bring your costumes and decorations. Prizes will be awarded in several categories. Limited to first 50 families to register, visit www.childplan.org or call 860-291-1741. Held indoors at the Communiyt Cultural Center in case of inclement weather.

NEW: HALLOWEEN BOO BASH!
Saturday, October 30
1:00 – 3:00 PM, Cultural Community Center…Join us for a Halloween Costume Party! The event is for children in grades 5 and under. Games, crafts, a “Scary, Creepy room”, Trick or Treat Alley, a magic show by T-Bone, and a safety presentation by an East Hartford Police Youth Outreach Officer, treats and prizes will be included. Free to East Hartford residents that pre-register. Day of admittance fee is $5.00 per child. The event is co-sponsored with the East Hartford YMCA and the East Hartford Middle School Teen Action Group. Activity #92839-1

Holiday Fest Tree Lighting Ceremony
Friday, December 3, 2010
6:30 PM - 8 PM, Town Green on Main Street…sponsored with the East Hartford Parks and Recreation Department. This festive event features a sing-a-long, visit from Frosty the Snowman, Rudolph the Reindeer, and Santa Claus. Candy canes will be distributed to all in attendance. This is a free event.

25th Annual Santa’s Visit, Sunday, Dec. 5
12 Noon – 3:00 PM, Community Cultural Center, 50 Chapman Place…features Santa, his helpers, refreshments, petting zoo, Christmas arts and crafts, horsedrawn wagon rides, snowman building contest and a free drawing for a live Christmas tree. This event is held in conjunction with the Beautification Commission’s Holiday Fest. Co-sponsors of this event with the Parks and Recreation Department are the E.H. Exchange Club and the E.H. Middle School Teen Action Group. Free.

Officer Brian A. Aselton Memorial Snow Dash 5 K Road Race
Sunday, January 9, 2011, 1:30 P.M. Starts and finishes at Langford School, 61 Alps Drive. Sponsored by the Parks & Rec. and the Police Dept. Proceeds will benefit the E.H. Police Department Child Safety and Crime Prevention Program and the Officer Brian A. Aselton Memorial Scholarship Fund. Advance registration through Dec. 23, 2010 is $20.00; $25.00 after Dec. 23 and on race day between 12 - 1 PM. # 14001-2. Can’t run in this year’s race?
