Press Release
The East Hartford Moose Lodge, 404 Prospect Street, donated four dozen moose bears to the East Hartford Fire and Police Departments to help comfort local children in crisis. These bears will be used by the police officers and fire fighters to break the ice with children who are scared and in need of comfort. These bears are brown, soft and cuddly in a red sweater with the name "Tommy" embroidered across the front. These bears are provided free of charge and the child can keep the bear after their crisis situation. These bears are kept in the trunks of police cruisers, on fire trucks and are used when public safety personnel come upon a scene when a child is in distress.
This is an annual event for the Lodge. The group has been donating bears for many years.
