NEWS RELEASE
On 4/26/2010 @ 9:57 AM, East Hartford Police Department were notified of a Bank Robbery at the New Alliance Bank, 1065 Main Street. East Hartford Police Officers responded to the Bank and secured the scene. Officers immediately began to search the area for the suspect. Connecticut State Police Department assisted EHPD providing a K-9 to conduct a track.
Preliminary information obtained from witnesses at the scene indicated the suspect entered the Bank via the rear door and handed the Bank teller a demand note. The suspect verbally indicated to the teller he had a gun. An undetermined amount of money was turned over to the suspect and he fled the bank via the rear door. No weapon was shown. No injuries reported. A witness at the scene indicated the suspect fled in a Pontiac, color white, bearing RI license plate 915-515.
