PRESS RELEASE
On 12/09/2009 @ 9:39 AM, East Hartford Police Department were notified of a bank robbery at the TD Bank, 29 Main Street. East Hartford Police Officers responded to the bank and secured the scene. Officers immediately began to search the area for the suspects and vehicle involved.
Preliminary information obtained from witnesses at the scene indicate the following, three men wearing all black and masks entered the bank. Two of the suspects jumped over the counter and ordered bank employees to get down on the floor. The two suspects then went over to the cash drawers and took the cash. No weapon was shown or implied. The suspects then exited the bank. No injuries reported during the robbery.
The suspects left the scene in a red colored mini van which was later located a short distance from the bank. This vehicle had been reported stolen out of Hartford.
Investigators from the Criminal Investigations Bureau responded to the scene to provide assistance with this investigation.
